Apple has tasted quite some success while designing its own range of SoCs since the time the first chip (A6) made by the Cupertino giant which made its way onto the iPhone 5. This was closely followed by the first 64 bit enables Apple A7 which featured inside the iPhone 5S.
However a new report states that Apple isn't interested to limit itself to CPU design instead it is developing in-house solution for motion co-processors and some sensors. In fact the report states that Apple is working on their own GPUs.
So far the Apple SoC had taken the help of PowerVR GPUs to top all major SoC benchmarks but Apple supposedly believes that they can make it even better. Or are they trying to bring down SoC costs in the long run by developing their own GPUs?
Nevertheless it's worth noting that Apple's very own GPUs aren't ready for presentation. In fact it is reported that it might take a few years before they are ready. So no need to worry as it seems that the next iPhone might indeed come with PowerVR GPU.
