Apple Rolls Out iOS 27.2 Update: Here Is What It Brings
Apple has started rolling out the iOS 27.2 update and it brings some new features, app improvements and security fixes. Now there isn’t any major overhaul of the operating system, but there are a few useful additions to check out. Here’s what’s new in iOS 27.2 and which iPhones can get the update.

iOS 27.2 update: What's new?
One of the biggest changes in iOS 27.2 is the expanded language support for Siri AI. Apple's chatbot is now available in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. The update also improves Siri for English-speaking users, allowing it to recall previous conversations.
The Messages app is also getting Suggestions, which can recommend quick actions in Calendar or Reminders based on the context of a conversation. For instance, if someone mentions an upcoming event in a chat, Messages may suggest adding it to Calendar.
Apple is also introducing Shared Albums in Photos, along with support for SynthID watermarks in Photos and Image Playground.
FaceTime's Dual Capture feature is expanding to group calls. It lets users keep both the front and rear cameras active during a call, so they can show themselves and their surroundings at the same time.
For iPhone Duo owners, iOS 27.2 adds Apple Pencil (USB-C) support. The update also brings Edge Light, a feature that uses the phone's display to illuminate the user's face during video calls in low-light conditions.
There are a few changes across Apple's other apps, too. For instance, the Apple TV app gets a Simple Profiles feature, while Multiview now allows users to watch up to four live sports streams simultaneously. The Podcasts app also gets a redesigned Up Next view, and Apple Music is reportedly receiving a new black-and-white app icon.
Alongside these features, iOS 27.2 reportedly fixes more than 160 security vulnerabilities.
Who can get the update?
Apple is rolling out iOS 27.2 to supported iPhone models. However, not every feature will be available on every device.
The new Siri AI language support is reportedly limited to the iPhone 15 Pro series and iPhone 16 models. The Apple Pencil support and Edge Light features, meanwhile, are specifically intended for the iPhone Duo.
To check whether iOS 27.2 is available for your iPhone, open Settings, go to General, and tap Software Update. If the update is available, you can simply download and install it from there.
