Apple seems to be working on a new gold color design of iPhone X, according to the documents filed with the United States FCC (Federal Communications Commission). The filing reveals some images of a gold iPhone X which is yet to be released.
The confidentiality period of 180 days on the pictures are over now and FCC has made the view clear for everyone about the new color. The phone got the same glass backplate featuring the same gold tone as the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus released in September.
It has been reported that the company is working on a gold version of iPhone X, but it was never showed up on the stage, and Apple went with only two color options space gray and white/silver.
Apple filed the documents back in September which also includes several images of the gold iPhone X from multiple angles. The gold iPhone X somehow looks similar to the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
Other documents indicate that the company had prepared its FCC filing in back in July, indicating that the photos were taken several months ahead of the iPhone X unveiling in September. However, many of the documents in the filing were available soon after submission. But the external pictures and sensitive details of the devices were subject to a six-month confidentiality clause that only recently expired.
Before the launch of the iPhone X, there were many rumors which suggested that the flagship will launch in three colors. At that time KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said, that the company is facing some problem with the manufacturing a Blush Gold iPhone X.
The images showcased the stainless steel frame of the gold iPhone, and it is possible that the frame was causing certain issues with the design. As a result, Apple iPhone 8 uses an aluminium frame for its gold variant. Whatsoever was the reason the Cupertino giant end up launching Phone X only in silver and space gray.
However, it's not cleared that Apple will still stick to the plan and make a debut with the gold iPhone X variant. But rumors suggest that Apple is aiming to introduce the phone in a new color to boost the mid-year sales of the device. If this turns to be true then, there is a chance of making a debut at Worldwide Developers Conference.
