Aquaris E4.5 and Aquaris E5: First Ubuntu-powered smartphones launched in India

Spain-based handset maker BQ has launched the Aquaris E4.5 and Aquaris E5 Ubuntu edition smartphone in the Indian market. Previously, both these devices went on sales in Europe earlier this year. In this edition it supports content including Zomato, Star Plus, Zee TV, Eros Now, NDTV and Times of India.

Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition - Key Specifications

Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition, sports a 4.5-inch qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and Dragontrail glass protection. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with Mali 400-MP2 GPU besides 1GB RAM under the hood.

Moving on to the storage side, this device has 8GB of internal memory, with an expansion option via microSD card slot. In terms of software, this device is shipped with Ubuntu Touch OS.

On the camera, this dual SIM device flaunts a 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash, f/2.4 aperture, 1080p video recording, 5MP front-facing camera.

Further, it supports connectivity options like 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio and powered by a 2150mAh battery on board.

Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition, flaunts 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels along with Dragontrail glass protection. This device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with Mali 400-MP2 GPU besides 1GB RAM under the hood.

Moreover, the dual SIM device comes packed with 16GB internal memory, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, Ubuntu Touch OS, 3G connectivity, 2500mAh battery.

Anyhow, the Aquaris E4.5 and Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Editions come in Black color variants and comes at a price of Rs. 11,999 and Rs. 13,499, respectively. It is now exclusively available on the e-commerce store Snapdeal.
