Asus ROG Phone 8 Launch Date Set for January 8: The Mobile Gaming Powerhouse is Coming

Asus has officially confirmed the launch date of the ROG Phone 8. The Asus ROG Phone 8 was teased at the back end of last week. However, no official launch date was provided, until now.

Asus has also set up an official microsite for the ROG Phone 8 as well as other products for its major CES 2024 showcase. The website also has a countdown and a competition that will allow users to win an Asus ROG Ally.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 global launch date is set for January 8, 2024. The launch event will be held globally and take place at 03:00 pm Las Vegas time, which is around 04:30 am IST on January 9. It is worth noting that Asus will also showcase its line-up of next-gen products on January 8 at CES 2024.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 live stream will likely be hosted on the company's official website and YouTube channel. Customers can also opt to "Save the date" by heading to the link. You can also check the website for all the details to win the ROG Ally.

Additionally, the Asus ROG Phone 8 will also be unveiled in China on January 16 at 7:30pm local time (5pm IST). The line-up could likely include the Asus ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate.

Asus ROG Phone 8: What we know so far

A teaser released last week revealed the design of the ROG Phone 8's back panel, which features what could be a dual-tone grey finish. The Asus ROG Phone 8 also has the Asus ROG Logo in the middle and the second USB Type-C port on the side.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 also boasts a pentagon-shaped camera island that houses three sensors and an LED Flash. As of now, there is no other information about the ROG Phone 8, although Asus is going with the tag "Beyond Gaming".

We also know that the Asus ROG Phone 8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. This does suggest that the ROG Phone 8 will feature a more well-rounded flagship experience as opposed to solely focusing on gaming like ROG phones of the past.

The Snapdragon chip on the ROG Phone 8 will come with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The ROG Phone 8 could also get an updated QHD+ OLED display, unlike its predecessor, which opts for an FHD+ 165Hz AMOLED screen.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 will also feature an advanced cooling system and improved haptics. Moreover, the handset also appears to have Gorilla Glass protection on the front and back as well as a metal frame. The Asus ROG Phone 8 could also pack a 6,000 mAh battery with 65W wired fast charging support.
