Asus ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro Specifications Leaked Ahead of January 2024 Launch

Asus is gearing up to launch its next gaming smartphone in January 2024. While Asus recently teased the back panel design of the ROG Phone 8, other specifications of the device remain unknown.

And while Asus is taking its time to reveal details about the ROG Phone 8, a new leak has given us an in-depth look at the Asus ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro. The Asus ROG Phone 8 and Phone 8 Pro will offer similar specifications, albeit with a few design tweaks.

Asus ROG Phone 8 Specifications

According to WindowsReport, the Asus ROG Phone 8 series will feature a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,500 nits. The phone also packs a 5,500 mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. Additionally, the design teaser also revealed the additional side USB Type-C port.

We already know that the Asus ROG Phone 8 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The chip will be paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Asus ROG Phone 8 will run Android 14-based ROG UI. Connectivity options Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC.

For optics, the Asus ROG Phone 8 will feature a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP primary camera sensor. The main camera will be paired with a 13 MP ultrawide lens and a new 32 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The ROG Phone 8 will also opt for a 32 MP selfie camera sensor.

Asus ROG Phone 8 Series Design, Build

The report also suggests that the ROG Phone 8 features a matte back panel, while the ROG Phone 8 Pro is expected to feature a glossy rear panel. The ROG Phone 8 series will also feature an RGB LED logo on the back.

The ROG Phone 8 is expected to weigh 225 grams and measure 8.9 mm thick. Both the ROG Phone 8 models could feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection as well as an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. While an IP68 rating may be farfetched, it does seem to line up with the 'Beyond Gaming' tagline Asus shared.

Asus ROG Phone 8 Launch Date
