Asus ROG Phone 8 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, IP68 Rating Launching on January 8 at CES 2024
Asus is set to unveil its next-gen flagship gaming smartphone next week. The Asus ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro will be unveiled at CES 2024.
Asus has already teased details about the ROG Phone 8's design and features. The Asus ROG Phone 8 line-up will also make its debut in India with Asus ROG India already teasing the device on X (formerly Twitter).

Asus ROG Phone 8 Launch Event
The Asus ROG Phone 8 launch event will take place on January 8 at this year's Consumer Electronics Show. However, Indian audiences tuning it to the launch can watch it live on January 9 at 04:30 am (IST).
Asus has already teased some details about the ROG Phone 8. For one, we can expect the company to tone down the gamer aesthetics as the ROG Phone 8 is confirmed to feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Moreover, the ROG Phone 8 series will also feature an 'Edgeless Frame', which suggests thinner bezels as compared to all past ROG Phone models. We also know that the Asus ROG Phone 8 series will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
Asus ROG Phone 8 Specifications (Expected)
The Asus ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro will likely feature the same specifications with some minor design tweaks as seen on past ROG Phone editions. The ROG Phone 8 is expected to sport a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with HDR10+ support and a 165Hz refresh rate. The screen will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The Asus ROG Phone 8 line-up will come with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Asus is expected to reduce the battery size on the ROG Phone 8 down to 5,500 mAh, which will support Quick Charge 5.0 and PD charging. Up front, the Asus ROG Phone 8 could opt for a 32 MP selfie camera.
For optics, the ROG Phone 8 will feature a triple-camera setup, although details about the three sensors are unknown. According to reports, the handset will feature a 50 MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS, a 13 MP ultrawide lens, and a new 32 MP telephoto shooter.
