This means ASUS could launch the ROG Phone 8 series next year, presumably in the second quarter. While the ROG Phone 7D series is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus | Ultra chipset, the ROG Phone 8 series is powered by the upcoming flagship chipset from Qualcomm, a leaked Geekbench listing has revealed.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset that is embedded inside the mystery ASUS ROG phone has a 1+5+2 CPU cluster. The chipset's motherboard is codenamed "pineapple", and its governor is named "Walt".

The single Cortex-X4 Prime Performance Core in the Snapdragon chipset is clocked at 3.19GHz. There are five Cortex-A720 Performance Cores clocked at 2.96GHz. The remaining 2 Cortex-A520 Efficiency Cores are clocked at 2.27GHz.

It is strange to note that Qualcomm is still using ARMv8 CPUs, which have been succeeded by ARM v9 CPUs. Previous reports have indicated the SoC will feature an Adreno 750 GPU.

The ASUS ROG Phone 8 series would run Android 14 OS out of the box. Being an ASUS smartphone, the smartphone would have a customized "System Preferences" feature that optimizes commonly used system settings for easy access.
