You can see that there are lots of discounts and offers everywhere owing to the festive celebrations. During this season, Asus has announced a price cut on one of its smartphones - the Zenfone 3 Max 5.5.

Asus was in the headlines since the past few days as the company launched its Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro smartphones in the country starting from Rs. 9,999. Now, the company has slashed the price of the Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 with the model number ZC553KL. The device that was priced at Rs. 14,999 is now available at Rs. 12,999 after receiving a price cut of Rs. 2,000.

The Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 was launched in the country in December last year at a price point of Rs. 17,999. Within months of its launch, the smartphone received a price cut taking it down to Rs. 14,999. With the recent price cut, the Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 is one of the few smartphones in this price bracket to pack in an enormous 4100mAh battery.

Costing Rs. 12,999, the Asus phone will definitely compete with the likes of other such smartphones including Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Lenovo K8 Note, Moto G5S Plus, and a few others.

To recall the specifications, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 boasts of an all-aluminum alloy design with 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch FHD 1080p display and employs a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC that is coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage space, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

On the photography front, the Asus smartphone is fitted with a 16MP main camera at its rear with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash and EIS and an 8MP selfie camera with HDR, f/2.2 aperture, Beautification and Lowlight modes. The other aspects on board include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, dual SIM support and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone was launched with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and received the Android Nougat update recently. Also, Asus has announced that the Zenfone 3 models will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update by this year-end.
