Asus ZenFone 4 series smartphones officially announced: Six new devices
Asus is fielding a wide range of handsets targeting different kinds of consumers.
After a lot of leaks and rumors, Asus the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer today has finally unveiled its ZenFone 4 series smartphones.
The new range of smartphones is based on the company's mainstream flagship Asus ZenFone 4. However, the company is offering a wide range of handsets targeting different kinds of consumers. Basically, the company has announced six different smartphones.
The smartphones include: ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Pro, ZenFone 4 Selfie, ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro, ZenFone 4 Max, and ZenFone 4 Max Pro.
The main focus of the new ZenFone series is the camera and the new smartphones have been equipped with dual cameras.
In any case, let's have a look at some of the key features and specs of the new smartphones.
Asus ZenFone 4
Asus ZenFone 4 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset which is further paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The device is backed by a 3300mAh battery and it runs on ZenUI 4.0 based on AndroidNougat 7.1.1.
As for the cameras, the smartphone is equipped with a 12MP+8MP where the secondary sensor is 120-degree wide-angle lens. At the front, there is an 8MP camera.
ZenFone 4 Pro
Among the lot, the ZenFone 4 Pro is the most premium handset and it comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset which is further paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
As for the cameras, the smartphone is equipped with a 12MP+16MP where the secondary sensor is used for 2X zoom. At the front, there is an 8MP camera. The device is backed by a 3600mAh battery and it runs on ZenUI 4.0 based on AndroidNougat 7.1.1.
Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie
ZenFone 4 Selfie comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4300 chipset which is further paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The device is backed by a 3000mAh battery and it runs on ZenUI 4.0 based on AndroidNougat 7.1.1.
As for the cameras, the smartphone is equipped with a 16MP camera at the rear. At the front, there is a 20mp + 8MP camera where the secondary sensor serves as a wide-angle lens.
Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro
ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset which is further paired with either 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The device is backed by a 3000mAh battery and it runs on ZenUI 4.0 based on AndroidNougat 7.1.1.
As for the cameras, the smartphone is equipped with a 16MP camera at the rear. At the front, there is a 24mp + 5MP camera where the secondary sensor serves as a wide-angle lens.
Asus ZenFone 4 Max
ZenFone 4 Max comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display. The smartphone is powered either by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 or 430 chipset. This model will likely come in three memory variants which will include 2GB, 3GB or 4GB RAM. The handset is offering 64GB of internal storage. The device is backed by a 5000mAh battery and it runs on ZenUI based on AndroidNougat 7.1.1.
As for the cameras, the smartphone is equipped with a 13MP+5MP where the secondary sensor will act as a wide-angle lens. At the front, there is an 8MP camera.
Asus ZenFone 4 Max Pro
ZenFone 4 Max Pro also features similar features and specs like the Max model. The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display. The smartphone is powered either by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 or 430 chipset. This model will likely come in two memory variants which will include 2GB and 3GB RAM. The handset is offering 32GB of internal storage.
The device is backed by a 5000mAh battery and it runs on ZenUI based on AndroidNougat 7.1.1. As for the cameras, the smartphone is equipped with a 16MP+5MP where the secondary sensor will act as a wide-angle lens. At the front, there is also a 16MP camera.
Pricing and Availability
During the event, Asus also announced prices for four of the devices. As such, ZenFone 4 will start at $399 (approximately Rs. 25,575), while its Pro variant will retail at $599 (approximately Rs. 38,395). Meanwhile, the Selfie and Selfie Pro models will be priced starting at $279 (approximately Rs. 17,883) and $379 (approximately Rs. 24,293), respectively.
The company did not reveal the price of the Max models as well as the release dates of the smartphones. However, as per the company, the smartphones will likely be launched in Asia first, and then these smartphones will make their Western debut sometime later.
