Asus ZenFone 5 concept renders show premium design and dual cameras
The recent Asus ZenFone 5 concept renders look quite premium with glass panels on both sides and dual cameras as in iPhone X.
As the MWC 2018 tech show is nearing, several smartphone manufacturers are gearing up to unveil their next-generation flagship smartphones at the show. On February 27, Asus has confirmed that it will host an event to unveil its upcoming flagship smartphones. We have already seen the upcoming Asus phones such as ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5 Max, and ZenFone 5 Lite hitting the headlines.
Now, the concept renders of the flagship ZenFone 5 have surfaced online showing the attractive design of the device. These concept renders have been revealed in a YouTube video by Science and Technology that is known for posting such upcoming smartphone concepts.
The ZenFone 5 concept renders are different from the ZenFone 5 X00PD model that was leaked recently with a 5.7-inch display. The specifications of both the smartphones seem to be different. The leaked details point out that the ZenFone 5 Max will have the model number X00QD while that of the ZenFone 5 Selfie will be X00PD and the latter will have dual selfie cameras as well.
Premium design
We already know that the company came up with the Pegasus 4S smartphone as its first full-screen device. Then, Asus unveiled the ZenFone Max Plus (M1) in the other markets with slight modifications. Eventually, the flagship ZenFone 5 series is believed to arrive with such a full-screen design.
The ZenFone 5 concept renders show that device might sport premium looks with an aluminum frame flanked with glass panels at the front and rear. It is said to sport a 5.5-inch S-IPS display with QHD+ resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is said to be protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
Two variants likely
Going by the existing speculations, the Asus ZenFone 5 could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. The device is said to be launched in two variants - one with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage space and the other with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage space. The device is said to feature a microSD card supporting expandable storage.
Dual rear cameras
Being a flagship smartphone, the ZenFone 5 is likely to flaunt dual rear cameras with the two 16MP lenses positioned vertically. This camera setup is likely to be accompanied by f/1.8 aperture and LED flash. The selfie snapper is said to be a 13MP sensor.
Other details
The concept renders have also tipped at the presence of a 3.5mm audio jack, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor (as there is a full-screen design), a microUSB port, and a capacious 5000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0 as well as reverse charging. The ZenFone 5 concept is seen in three color variants - Blue, Gold, and White/Silver. The device is rumored to be priced at 350 euros (approx. Rs. 27,000).
