Asus launching a numerous variants of a single handset with cheesy model number is nothing new. But it seems that the Taiwanese OEM has adopted a different plan of late - launch Deluxe version of each of their handset.
It all started with the Asus Zenfone 2 which got a Deluxe treatment earlier this year. The Deluxe edition dubbed the Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe sports 128GB of internal storage and a diamond cut back cover. Asus carried over this 'Deluxe' treatment to a few of its other handsets namely the Zenfone Zoom and the Zenfone Laser.
The newest addition to the list however is the Asus Zenfone Selfie. Today the Taiwanese maker officially unveiled a Deluxe Edition of the Zenfone Selfie sporting a 128GB of internal storage, 3GB of RAM (as compared to the 2GB of the standard edition) and a Diamond Cut back cover.
The rest of the specifications however remain the same including the 5.5 inch Full HD (1920x1080p) display, Snapdragon 615 SoC and dual 13MP cameras.
The Limited Edition Asus Zenfone Selfie Deluxe is however available exclusively in China, with Asus not revealing any information regarding the international launch of the device (if at all).
Previous track record of Asus shows that there a possibility of not bringing this smartphone to its other markets - a 256GB variant of the Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe was also launched exclusively in Brazil previously.
The pricing of the Asus Zenfone Selfie Deluxe is however not known as of now.
