The smartphone will be a Flipkart exclusive and it will be available in Glacier Silver and Navy Black color options. Besides, the smartphone is priced at Rs. 26,999. Asus ZenFone Zoom S was earlier launched as Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom at CES 2017 earlier this year.

Elaborating further on the sidelines of the launch of ZenFone Zoom S; Peter Chang, Regional Head, South Asia & Country Head, System Business Group - ASUS India said, "On the onset of World Photography Day, ASUS India wishes to rejuvenate the passion and commitment of photography enthusiast by launching ZenFone Zoom S. We at ASUS have maintained a resolute and enduring commitment to championing mobile photography and ZenFone 3 - 'Built for Photography' launched in 2016 is testimony to the same fact."

"Today, we reinstate our commitment to help consumers catch the beauty of every moment with the ZenFone Zoom S. An incredible device that combines a dual-lens camera system with an unbeatable battery - ZenFone Zoom S will set a new bar for mobile photography."

Display, Processors, RAM and Storage

The Asus ZenFone Zoom S comes with 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The smartphone is backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa core 2GHz processor which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. For graphics, it comes with Adreno 506 GPU.


The main USP or the major highlight of this smartphone is its dual-camera system. The smartphone is equipped with two 12-megapixel cameras, one with a f/1.7-aperture, 25mm wide-angle lens and a second with a 59mm lens.

With this new smartphone users can now basically click a picture covering more area with the 25mm wide-angle lens and they can also capture portraits with 2.3x optical zoom with a 59mm lens. The company is also using a SuperPixel camera technology that will enable the smartphone to focus very quickly.

The company claims that the new cameras will help users capture clear photos at night or in low-light environments. Moreover, the new technology will enable the camera on ZenFone Zoom S to have 2.5-times (2.5X) greater light sensitivity which is also 10-times (10X) that of an average smartphone.

Besides these, the camera offers Four-axis Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and three-axis Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) features as well as 19 different versatile modes that optimize the camera to shoot scenes or add special effects to photos

At the front, there is a 13-megapixel camera with a Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and a screen flash feature.

Battery and Software

The handset is backed by a 5000mAh battery which can also double up as a power bank for charging other devices. The company claim that the battery can give up to 42 days of standby time and capture up to 6.4 hours of continuous 4K UHD video on a single charge.

As for the software, the smartphone runs on Zen UI 3.0 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Other Features

ZenFone Zoom S is a dual hybrid SIM device that offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS/AGPS, NFC, GLONASS, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C.

Sensors onboard include an Accelerator, E-Compass, Proximity, Gyroscope (for Camera EIS Require), Ambient Light Sensor, IR Sensor and RGB Sensor. The smartphone also features a fingerprint sensor on the back.

Finally, the device measures 154.3 x 77 x 7.99mm and weigh 170 grams.
