Asus today launched a slew of devices at the press event in IFA Berlin. The Taiwanese company had previously hinted that they will be launching a whole lineup of devices at IFA this year, and apparently it seems that there weren't lying. Sadly though most of the devices launched are already unveiled in Asia and the Asus Zenfone Zoom is among them.

In case you are following Asus for quite a while you will be aware of this camera centric handset from the company. Asus first unveiled this device at an event in MWC, Barcelona along with the Zenfone 2 series. Rather the Zenfone Zoom is Asus' take on the Samsung Galaxy Zoom - albeit with a much slimmer profile. Today the company officially unveiled the camera centric device in Europe.

The Zenfone Zoom uses a Panasonic Smart FSI® image sensor for its 13MP rear Laser Autofocus camera. As always the camera comes with Asus's very own Pixel Master technology which helps to capture more light in a semi-dark room. The intuitive ZenUI camera app comes with an Asus exclusive Super Resolution mode which applies multi-frame-fusion technology to create incredibly detailed photos. Four high resolution 13MP shots are fused to create a single image of with clarity that's four times (4X) greater than a single shot. As a result of this software tweak the device can capture images with resolution as high as 52MP.

ZenFone Zoom excels at macro photography, enabling extreme close-ups as near as 5cm (2in) to reveal new and unseen worlds of detail, and is ready to turn pro with one tap - with Manual mode allowing instant adjustment of shutter speed, exposure value, white balance, ISO and a host of other professional-grade settings.

Introducing ZenFone Zoom to Europe at Berlin's annual global trade show, IFA, Erik Hermanson, ASUS Head of Marketing - Mobile said: "With ASUS ZenFone 2, we created a great and widely-praised smartphone that captures stunning, high-resolution photos in everyday situations. Now, with the launch of ASUS ZenFone Zoom, we offer users a smartphone that has not only the look and feel of a DSLR camera, but the advanced features to match. With ASUS ZenFone Zoom, we are truly putting professional photography within the reach of everyone."
