Lenovo to launch Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m Smartphones in India on Oct 20

After bringing their camera centric device dubbed the Vibe Shot to India last month, the Chinese company is mulling to bring their P series of devices to country too. Lenovo Vibe P series consists of smartphones which are rather high on battery.

Lenovo recently launched two of their Vibe P series handsets dubbed the P1 and P1m at IFA Berlin last month. Sporting a large 5000mAh battery, the Lenovo Vibe P1 aims to deliver exceptional battery life.

According to a report by Gizchina, the Chinese company is planning to launch the duo by the end of this month in the country. The report coming from internal source further clarify that pricing of the aforementioned models. While the Lenovo Vibe P1 will be placed in the mid-range with a price tag of Rs 17,500, the Vibe P1m will be lighter on the pocket at Rs 10,000.

At the aforementioned price point the Lenovo Vibe P1 will fall head to head with likes of OnePlus One and Xiaomi Mi4. Both these devices are more powerful than the Snapdragon 615 powered P1. However you shouldn't forget that the Lenovo Vibe P1 isn't for the performance hungry!

Beside the SD615 SoC, the Lenovo Vibe P1 packs a 5.5 inch Full HD Display along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. There's also an option for memory expansion via MicroSD card slot.

Coming to the optics the Vibe P1 features a 13MP dual LED back and 5MP front cameras. To add a premium feel to the device Lenovo have curved the back of the device with metal. There's also a Fingerprint sensor on the rectangular home button upfront.

The cheaper sibling on the other hand comes with a smaller footprint. It sports a 5 inch HD (1280x720) display along with Mediatek 6735P 1.0GHz quad core SoC under the hood. This is strapped to a Mali T720 GPU and a 1GB of RAM. The cameras include an 8MP rear and 5MP front snapper. Unlike the bigger brother the 8MP camera is equipped with a single LED flash.

The Lenovo Vibe P1m comes with a 16GB of storage and dual SIM slots out of which one can be further used as MicroSD slot (upto 32GB). The USP of the device though is the 4000mAh battery which comes with support for Quick Charge.

Both the Lenovo devices runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 with the company's own VibeUI on top. The main competitor to the Vibe P series of smartphones in India is the Gionee Marathon M4. However this device sports a 5000mAh battery of the P1 while sporting P1m like specs. It even sits in the middle of the two at a price of around Rs 12,000 (offline).
