Caviar Unveils Luxury Versions of Huawei Mate XT Ultimate with Prices Exceeding $15,000
Luxury brand Caviar has once again raised the bar for opulent tech devices, this time offering exclusive versions of the newly launched Huawei Mate XT Ultimate tri-folding smartphone. Known for transforming mainstream smartphones into luxurious status symbols, Caviar has customized the Mate XT Ultimate in two striking models-the Black Dragon and the Gold Dragon.
These devices, part of Caviar's Rich Colors collection, come with price tags that start at $12,770 and go up to $15,360, making them among the most expensive foldable smartphones on the market.

The Black Dragon and Gold Dragon
Caviar's Black Dragon model draws inspiration from the Xuanlong Dragon in Chinese mythology. The phone is wrapped in black crocodile leather, designed to resemble the dragon's scales, and is further enhanced with intricate gold-plated accents. This blend of luxury materials and attention to detail elevates the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate into a true collector's item.
On the other hand, the Gold Dragon model exudes pure opulence, featuring a 24k gold finish. The textured surface is inspired by imperial swords crafted in Longquan, a Chinese city famed for its centuries-old sword-making tradition. This exquisite detail not only pays homage to Chinese craftsmanship but also sets the Gold Dragon apart as a symbol of wealth and prestige.

Limited Production Reflects Cultural Significance
In a nod to Chinese culture, Caviar will produce only 88 units of each model. The number 88 is considered highly auspicious in China, representing good fortune and prosperity. This limited production run adds an element of exclusivity, ensuring that these phones will remain rare and sought-after by collectors and luxury tech enthusiasts.
Premium Pricing for Premium Features
Both the Black Dragon and Gold Dragon editions of the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate are available in three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The Black Dragon model is priced at $12,770, $13,200, and $13,630, depending on the storage configuration. The Gold Dragon, with its 24k gold exterior, commands a higher price, starting at $14,500 and reaching up to $15,360 for the 1TB version.
These prices are a stark contrast to the standard Mate XT Ultimate, which retails at a more affordable (not really) CNY19,999 (approximately $2,850). However, it's important to note that the standard Mate XT Ultimate is currently exclusive to the Chinese market, with an international release expected in the first quarter of 2025.
