CES 2024: Samsung Unveils Innovative “Flex In & Out” Foldable Screen Tech

At CES 2024, Samsung wowed the crowd with its innovative "Flex In & Out" foldable screen technology. The concept device, which resembles the Galaxy Z Flip 5, features a 360-degree folding capability, allowing users to not only open and close the phone like a traditional flip device but also bend it completely backward.

Enhanced Durability for Real-World Use

Samsung claims that the 'Flex In & Out' display is not just a gimmick but a durable innovation. The company subjected the foldable panels to rigorous durability tests, including extreme temperature variations from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius, exposure to sand, water immersion, and even bouncing basketballs on the foldable panels. This emphasis on durability aims to assure users of the device's resilience in real-world usage.

A Single Display, Many Possibilities

The potential integration of the 'Flex In & Out' display technology into future Galaxy Z Flip smartphones could mark a significant shift in design philosophy. Flex Liple Concept: Dual-Folding for Enhanced Functionality

Another standout innovation presented at CES is the Flex Liple concept device, featuring an extended dual-folding panel. When bent backward, one side is shorter than the other, accommodating icons in the phone's quick setting menu, media playback controls, and displaying battery level and time.
