ColorOS 16 June Monthly Update Live in China: New AI Tools, Lock Screen Tweaks, and More

OPPO and OnePlus have kicked off their monthly ColorOS update for June 2026, and it's a fairly packed one. The rollout is currently live in China, with more devices set to get it by the end of the month.

What's interesting here is that this isn't just for ColorOS 16 users. Even people still running ColorOS 13 on Android 13 are getting some of these changes, which is a nice touch for anyone holding onto an older device.

Lock Screen Island Now Plays Music

The Lock Screen Island has picked up support for KuGou Music, complete with full screen lyrics. If you've used similar lock screen widgets on other phones, this is basically the same idea: your music controls and now lyrics, right there without unlocking your phone.

Kugou Music lyrics also show up on Fluid Cloud, so it's not just limited to the lock screen.

Xiaobu Assistant Gets a Lot More Useful

Xiaobu Suggestions and Fluid Cloud now handle class schedules better, pulling info from the Super Curriculum Schedule app. You get class timings, classroom info, and reminders before classes start or end. Handy if you're a student or know someone who is.

There's also a new football viewing card in Xiaobu Suggestions. Live matches, schedules, results and standings are all one tap away. Xiaobu Assistant itself now has a dedicated match watching AI agent too, so football related questions should get smoother answers.

On top of that, Xiaobu Assistant now connects directly with JD.com, JD Finance, Flight Manager, and China Mobile Migu. That means you can pull up service cards from these apps without actually opening them.

Xiaobu Memory Adds Drag and Drop, Better Travel Planning

You can now drag images, text, and documents straight into Xiaobu Memory through Content Portal. Small change, but it makes saving stuff a lot less fiddly.

The travel collection feature has also been improved. Travel maps can now build route plans based on your itinerary, and it'll show nearby food spots around the places you're visiting. The circle selection tool in Xiaobu Assistant has gotten better too, with more control over resizing and repositioning the selection box.

NAS Support and Better File Transfers

Device Space can now manage Feiniu Private Cloud NAS devices directly. The Gallery app connects with this too, so you can browse photos and videos stored on your NAS without leaving the app, including live photo previews and downloads.

There's also a small but useful change for anyone connecting their phone to a computer. You can now pick the storage path when transferring files from your computer to your phone, instead of it just going wherever.

Lynk & Co Bluetooth car key support has been added as well. Once paired, your phone can unlock the car automatically when you're nearby and lock it when you walk away.

Camera and Gallery Improvements

A new Dragon Boat Festival watermark has been added for anyone who likes themed photo overlays. More relevant for daily use is AI portrait lighting, which can enhance low light portraits using an on device model, so it works even without internet.

The Gallery app can now automatically spot photos from food delivery apps and group them into a separate album. If your camera roll is full of food pics from Meituan, this should help clean things up.

Speaking of Meituan and Douyin, some pages in both apps now have smoother transition animations.

Quality of Life Stuff That Actually Matters

OPPO Bubble now connects faster, which makes using the rear camera for selfies easier. You can manage it through Device Space once it's connected.

System sound now has an equalizer with Pop and Rock presets, plus custom frequency adjustment if you want to tweak things yourself.

There's a new one tap toggle to disable accessibility permissions for all apps at once. Apps installed from outside official stores will also show a warning popup if they try anything that looks risky.

Gaming and Outdoor Mode Get Some Love

High Performance Outdoor Mode now supports quick app switching, so you're not stuck in one app while using it.

Game Camera can capture 2K screenshots now, and the game mic recording feature can capture system audio and team voice at the same time, which is useful if you record gameplay with friends.

Live Assistant gets a floating ball for quick access to its panel, along with one tap replay recording and better screen color adjustment during streams.

Smaller Tweaks Across Weather, Calendar and More

The Weather app's homepage now shows multi day trends as a line chart, which is a nice way to glance at what's coming without digging through daily forecasts.

Calendar timetable data can be backed up to the cloud and moved over using Phone Clone. There's also a new toggle to show more festival information if that's something you care about.

Phone Clone can now move train trip info from your old phone to your new one. And in Gallery, deleting a photo now automatically jumps to the next nearby photo in the direction you were swiping, instead of dumping you back at the start.

The app drawer's Categories view has a new App Suggestions section that recommends apps based on what you use often. Calendar events and to dos also support more reminder types now.

Lastly, Phone Manager's malware scanning has been improved to better catch fake apps and apps misusing accessibility permissions.

Which Devices Are Getting This Update

The list of eligible devices is pretty long and covers most of OPPO and OnePlus's recent lineup. On the OPPO side, that includes the Find N, Find X, Reno, A series, K series, and several Pad models. OnePlus devices getting the update span the numbered series from the OnePlus 9 onward, along with the Ace, Turbo, and Pad lineups.

The rollout started on June 3 in China and is expected to wrap up by June 30.

When Will India Get This Update

This specific monthly update is currently rolling out in China only, and OPPO hasn't shared an India timeline for it yet. Going by past patterns, OPPO usually brings these monthly ColorOS updates to India a few weeks to a couple of months after the China rollout, depending on the device.

We'll be tracking this closely and will update separately as soon as OPPO confirms an India release window. Stay tuned for more on this.
