Comio C2 launched in India: Will it compete with Xiaomi and others in the mid-segment category?

Comio C2 First Impressions

Comio India the local smartphone manufacturer is yet again expanding the range of its handsets in the country. The company has just launched its fourth smartphone Comio C2 and the company is touting it to come loaded with a powerful battery, security features, scratch free back cover and exceptional music quality.

Besides, the company claims that the smartphone has been designed keeping the Indian consumer in mind with a range of progressive and user-friendly features and specifications. However, the smartphone will cater to the mid-level segment which is the fastest growing smartphone segment in the country.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, CEO, and Director, Comio India said, "In a very short span of time since our India launch, we have received a tremendous response from our consumers. With the launch of Comio C2, we are moving towards our vision of becoming leaders in the INR 6-10K (mid-segment). The C2 has been designed keeping the Indian smartphone user in mind, one who is looking for a fully loaded handset at an affordable price point."

While that sounds promising let's have a look at what the smartphone has to offer.

Features and Specifications

C2 comes with a 12.7 cm (5-inch) HD IPS display. The device is available in Royal Blue and Royal Black and features a scratch-free back cover. The side keys and power button come in golden decorative color. The dual-SIM smartphone is powered by a 64 Bit Quad Core MediaTek chipset which is paired with 2GB of RAM. C2 offers 16GB internal memory which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

Talking about the cameras, the handset sports an 8MP camera at the rear with Auto-focus feature and a flash. Up front, there is also an 8MP Camera which is supported by a flash and beautification mode and others. C2 is backed by a 4000mAh and runs on Comio UI based on Stock Android and Android 7.0 Nougat.

Additionally, the smartphone comes pre-installed with unique security features like Intruder Selfie, Antivirus, and Anti-Theft. "In case of any suspicious activity, SIM-based alerts are shared with the registered alternate mobile number.

One of the interesting features of Anti-theft is the image click seek, wherein when someone tries to unlock the device by trying to break the pattern or PIN, the device will automatically take the image of the unauthorized person. This Intruder Selfie allows you to easily see who has tried to unlock your device without your authorization," the company said in a media release.

The device is also embedded with the Freezer and Clone Application. The Freezer app allows users to install as many applications as possible whereas the Clone app allows for ease of transfer of data from one handset to another.

To celebrate their arrival in the market, Comio is also offering its customers a very special after-sales service. Comio promises 30 days DOA and a special buyback and upgrade offers that will allow consumers to upgrade their old handset. There is 40 percent off on returning the old Comio phone (not more than 12 months old). The offer is applicable through www.comio.in only.

Additionally, the company is providing free one-time screen replacement warranty within six months of purchase to supplement the one-year + 100 days' extra manufacturer warranty.

Comio also has an exclusive data tie-up with Reliance Jio, which offers packages with additional data benefit, specially designed for the youth. Every Comio user will receive 5GB per month for 4 months. Moreover, with a recharge of Rs. 309 or above, consumers will get a 5 GB additional data voucher on their handset.

The Comio C2 smartphone will be available at all key retail stores in North and West India at a price of Rs. 7,199. The smartphone will also be available online via Snapdeal, Flipkart, Amazon, ShopClues and Paytm.
