Compact Android Smartphone Will Live On With Zenfone 11: ASUS Won’t Discontinue Series
Several reports claimed yesterday that ASUS is ending its Zenfone series of smartphones. However, the company has hit back at those reports and denied it is retiring the mobile phones that were popular for their compact design and decent hardware.
The ASUS Zenfone line was rumored to be ending, and the ASUS Zenfone 10 was supposed to be the last smartphone in the series. However, that is not the case, ASUS has officially confirmed. Let's look at the developments and see when the latest ASUS Zenfone 11 could launch.

ASUS Zenfone 10 Is Not The Last Generation Of The Compact Android Smartphone Series
Several publications cited a report from Taiwan that claimed ASUS is retiring the Zenfone series. This move was allegedly part of an "organizational restructuring".
The report claimed it relied on an internal letter at ASUS which allegedly mentioned the plan was to transfer some internal employees from the PC department to the mobile phone divisions. Besides the PC department, which is currently struggling a little, ASUS also has the ROG and the Zenfone, which are smartphone departments.
Refuting these rumors and discrediting the alleged letter, ASUS has released an official statement confirming the Zenfone series will live on:
"We would like to address the rumor that ASUS Zenfone 10 will be the last generation of the series and the ASUS Zenfone product line will be shut down. This is not true. We will continue our two main phone business product lines, the ROG Phone and the Zenfone. ASUS has a strong commitment to our smartphone business and customers. Please reference our Q2 earnings call for more information. Please stay tuned for our 2024 product lineups."
When Will ASUS Launch The Zenfone 11?
ASUS launched the first smartphone in the Zenfone series way back in 2014. The Zenfone 10 is currently available for pre-order. However, its availability is limited.
The Zenfone series majorly comprises compact Android smartphones. In other words, devices have significantly smaller displays. However, this does not mean they are budget or affordable smartphones with entry-level hardware.
The ASUS Zenfone series has traditionally packed potent hardware, and its smartphones are usually positioned in the midrange category. However, their demand isn't consistently high. Moreover, smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi, Samsung, OnePlus, and many others are quite aggressive and active in the space.
ASUS has mentioned in its official statement, customers should stay tuned for its 2024 product lineup. Combined with the assurance about continuing the Zenfone series, it means there will be an ASUS Zenfone 11, and it could launch next year.
