Coolpad Cool Play 6 with dual rear cameras launched at Rs. 14,999

Coolpad Cool play 6 is now official.

As reported earlier, at an event in Dubai, Coolpad announced the Cool Play 6 smartphone. This smartphone has been launched for the Indian market at a price tag of Rs. 14,999 as an Amazon exclusive.

Coolpad Coolplay 6 First Impressions

The Cool Play 6 features a full metal body with metal rims running all over the device. The front is protected with 2.5D glass and there is a circular fingerprint sensor below the rear camera. The device features a dual rear camera module with the two lenses positioned vertically. Coolpad has incorporated a USB Type-C port and dual-SIM card slots but there is no microSD card slot for expandable storage on the latest smartphone.

The new Coolpad Cool Play 6 bestows a 5.5-inch FHD 1080p display and makes use of a 1.95GHz octa-core Snapdragon 653 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Journey UI, the device will be upgraded to the upcoming Android 8.0 OS via an OTA update by the end of this year, announced the company. The connectivity aspects on board include 4G VoLTE and Bluetooth 4.1. A 4000mAh battery powers the smartphone from within and is claimed to provide up to 300 hours of standby time.

When it comes to the camera department, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 features a 13MP dual camera setup at its rear with dual tone LED flash, PDAF, HDR and 4K video recording support and f/2.0 aperture. Up front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The Coolpad smartphone has been launched in two color variants - Gold and Black. Priced at Rs. 14,999, the smartphone will be exclusive to Amazon India as mentioned above. The sale will debut on September 4 and both the color options will be listed for the buyers. With a sub-Rs. 15,000 price point, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 becomes ones of the smartphones in the affordable market segment with a dual camera setup.
