Coolpad Launches Note 3 Lite Smartphone for Rs 6,999 in India Along with a Fitness Band!
As expected, Chinese smartphone company, Coolpad has launched the Note 3 Lite smartphone for Rs 6,999 in India today. The smartphone will be available for purchase exclusively on Amazon India and the registration will start today itself, dated January 15th. At the New Delhi event today, Coolpad officials also confirmed that the first flash sale of Coolpad Note 3 Lite will begin on January 28 at 2pm afternoon. The handset will be available in two colors including champagne white and black variant.
The Note 3 Lite is essentially a lighter version of the company's previously launched Note 3 smartphone that is known for packing in brilliant specifications for its price. Just like the older sibling, the Note 3 Lite is also loaded with impressive specs like a fingerprint scanner, 3GB of RAM and 4G LTE connectivity.
Speaking of specifications and features, Coolpad Note 3 Lite sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, and is powered by MediaTek MT6735 quad-core chipset with a clock speed of 1.3GHz. The interesting part is that the phone offers 3GB of RAM, even at such a low price, which makes it the first smartphone to feature this massive RAM size at its price point. Moreover, the company is offering 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded by up to 64GB via a microSD card.
Coolpad Note 3 Camera Review: A Decent Choice for Budget Android Purists!
The highlight of the phone is its fingerprint scanner placed below the camera at the rear panel. Coolpad's previously launched Note 3 was the first smartphone to feature fingerprint recognition tech in the low-end segment. Considering that a fingerprint scanner is still rare to smartphones in this price, the Coolpad Note 3 Lite gets an edge over its rivals.
In the camera department, the Coolpad Note 3 Lite adorns a 13MP rear snapper with auto-focus and flash light, and a 5MP front-facing shooter. This combination of camera set-up is again not very common in this price range.

In terms of software, the phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS wrapped under the company's native UI. Other features include support for 4G connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and sensors such as gravity sensor, proximity sensor, light sensor and magnetic sensor. The Note 3 Lite packs in a 2,500mAh battery that will juice it up to 8 hours (talk-time).
With such powerful specs and features, the Coolpad Note 3 Lite makes for a powerful competitor to its rival like the Xiaomi Redmi 3 which is expected to get launched soon in India, Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 4G and more.
Along with Coolpad Note 3 Lite, the company also showcased a smart band at today's event dubbed as CoolBand. While Coolpad officials have not shared any price and availability details related to the fitness band, however they did confirm that 'this is a first time, they are showcasing a wearable in India' and its ought to hit the market soon.
This is basically, a fitness band with clock and alarm. It can be used to click pictures from smartphone's camera, by connecting it with the phone via Bluetooth. It is priced for 300RMB (approx. Rs 3,100) in China and it is coming to India in 2016.
Essentially, the company is doing research to understand the wearable market in India, and is customizing the CoolBand accordingly.
