Essential Phone 'Halo Gray' variant launched with built-in Alexa
The Halo Gary variant of Essential Phone will offer users an alternative to Google Assistant that is already available on all other variants.
Essential Phone now has a new variant which comes with built-in Alexa. Dubbed as 'Halo Gray', this variant will offer users an alternative to Google Assistant that is already available on all other variants. The Halo Gray model is already up for pre-order on Amazon and it will go on sale on February 21. As far as the pricing part is concerned, it is offered for $449 (approx. Rs. 28,900).
"Just one day after unveiling three fresh colour variants of the Essential Phone, the company announced yet another new version of the handset. Called 'Halo Gray', the new model is unique because it comes with Amazon Alexa built in," reported the publication Phone Arena on Friday.
If you are wondering, all the other specs remain the same in the Halo Gray model of Essential Phone. To recall, Andy Rubin's brain child was first unveiled in July last year. The device boasts of a titanium and ceramic build, an almost edge to edge display with minimum bezel at the bottom, dual camera setup, and a fingerprint scanner.
The Essential Phone is a 5.7-inch edge-to-edge QHD (1,312×2,560 pixels) display with 19:10 aspect ratio. The display is covered by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top for added protection. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor which is coupled with Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB RAM. The device offers 128GB of default storage space.
The smartphone is is equipped with a rear dual camera setup with two 13MP image sensors in the RGB and Monochrome combination. At the front, there is an 8MP selfie sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 4K video support.
Talking about the battery, the Essential Phone is backed by a 3,040mAh cell with fast charging support. Connectivity options onboard include 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C port, Nano-SIM support, and GLONASS.
The handset recently started receiving Android 8.1 Oreo Beta update and the rollout of the stable version is expected soon.
