Galaxy S24 and S23 Could Join One UI 8 Beta in the Coming Weeks
After facing criticism for a rocky One UI 7 rollout, Samsung seems to be picking up the pace with One UI 8. The company has already begun beta testing with the Galaxy S25 series, and this time, things are moving faster and more smoothly—at least for now.
With the broader rollout expected to reach older Galaxy devices soon, One UI 8 is shaping up to be less about bold new features and more about rebuilding trust through timely updates.

Galaxy S24 and S23 Series Could Join Beta Soon
According to tipster Tarun Vats, the Galaxy S24 series may begin receiving the One UI 8 beta by late June, though a slight delay into July isn’t off the table. The Galaxy S23 lineup is expected to follow close behind, possibly entering beta testing in early or mid-July.
As with any software rollout, these dates are speculative. Beta builds are prone to delays due to bugs or unforeseen issues, so expectations should remain flexible.
What Makes One UI 8 Different?
Unlike the more dramatic overhaul that came with One UI 7, the One UI 8 update appears more incremental. That’s likely a key reason why Samsung is able to move faster this time. The base version is built on Android 16, which itself is nearing its stable release by the end of June.
One UI 8 brings refinements across the interface, smoother animations, and a more polished experience rather than major design changes. It’s a cleanup pass that focuses on stability and responsiveness—two things users felt were lacking during the One UI 7 rollout.
Foldables Will Launch with One UI 8
Samsung has confirmed that its upcoming foldable flagships—the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7—will ship with One UI 8 pre-installed. While the company hasn’t shared a formal launch date, multiple reports point to a July debut, which aligns with previous foldable release cycles.
