Google could design the next Pixel similar to iPhone

Alphabet which is Google's parent company recently closed a $1.1 billion deal with HTC Corp which will bring 2000 smartphone engineers under one umbrella in order to win its fight with the rival Cupertino giant Apple. However the reports suggest that these 2000 engineers will help Google manufacturing three or four Pixel smartphones and will continue manufacturing its own smartphones which eventually compete with the Pixel smartphones.

With its vision to design its own chips Google seems to be going for designing high end devices only and it seems like Google is following Apple's footsteps. Unlike the Nexus series of smartphones the Google pixel series might not come at an affordable price range. Though the flagship device does pack some powerful features.

When it come to the sales figure the Google Pixel sales were substantially low than that of the Apple's. Recently, Google used its custom chip for camera in Pixel 2 model and the new image processor surely did improve the camera performance. However if Google starts manufacturing its own system chips, the other suppliers could go out of business. This could give some hard time to Apple as well as other chip manufacturers. It would be interesting though to see the impact of Google's manufactured chips on the market. Google will need to get one step ahead of Apple's hardware and software if t were to beat the Cupertino giant in the smartphone industry.

As per some reports on livemint, Google plans to expand research and marketing, cut deals with more phone carriers and retailers, and move into new markets following the HTC deal. The sales will remain limited to nine countries, including the US, Germany and Singapore.
