Now, as per some reports from the web, Google has halted the development of Allo and has shifted its engineers to develop Android Messages app instead. Google is now aiming to build it out with RCS and other features to make it a suitable alternative to the iMessage service.

Google's Allo was not as successful as the tech giant had hoped it would be. However, it was able to grab some attention during its launch as this was a release from the tech giant. It is not hidden from us that the iPhone users are content with iMessage and the android users have been using messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram for years, so it will require Google to release just more than a chat app to get the users on its platform and as per Google, that thing is the Android messages including RCS.

As per some reports from the web, Google has named the new product as 'Chat' and the sources further reveal that it is not same as the Hangout chat which yet a different app from the tech giant. The reports further suggest that Google will not abandon Allo, so its users can have a breath of relief. Google has at the moment paused the development and investment in the app and is focusing on releasing the 'Chat' app that the tech giant has thought of. However we can only wait and watch if Allo will get any further updates or not, or it will be meet a similar fate as Google Hangouts.

Also in one of our recent articles related to Google, we have covered that it has collaborated with a non-profit organization named CyArk to help with the preservation of historically-significant architectural sites which are at a risk of permanent irreversible damage due to either natural disasters or because of human activities. The collaboration is called the Open Heritage Project, and this joint venture is said to capture these monuments in 3D using laser scanners along with millimetre precision by using CyArk's 3D laser-scanning technology.
