2017 has been an eventful year in terms of smartphone launches. Many manufacturers have already dropped their flagships and we are waiting for a couple of more flagship launches.
Apple will unveil the iPhone 8 next week, while there is still a month left till the launch of Google's Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. We have heard numerous leaks regarding the iPhone 8 but the same cannot be said Google flagships. Mostly, the same information has surfaced from different sources. That being said, 9to5Google has just posted a new picture believed to be of the Google Pixel 2.
In addition, the website has provided some information about the upcoming smartphone, which was not known earlier. Coming back to the image, it shows the alleged Pixel 2 sporting a slate gray-looking glass window and a dark silver back. Since the image is heavily blurred, we can't really comment on the design-aspect.
Talking about the specifications, the report claims the Google Pixel 2 will carry the IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The smartphone is likely to be launched in two storage variants; the standard one will feature 64GB of internal storage capacity and the higher version will arrive with 128GB internal storage on board.
The report further reveals the phone's camera will use EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) for capturing superior quality images in low-light condition.
Following the current trend, Google has decided not to include a headphone jack on the Pixel 2. However, the company is said to provide a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm dongle in the phone's retail package.
Besides this, the flagship device is rumored to arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and an Ambient Display with Always On feature.

The report also states that Google Lens will launch along with the two smartphones. As per the latest information, the second generation Pixel phones will be launched on October 5.
