In the dynamic and competitive smartphone market, Google has once again made a triumphant arrival with its newest offerings - the Google Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro. The Pixel 8 series arrived earlier this month with some prominent upgrades over the Pixel 7 line-up.

Among the new additions to the Pixel 8 series are two new displays, which are aimed at offering an enhanced experience. And those upgrades seem to have paid off, as DxOMark recently rated the display on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro as the best of any smartphone to date.

Google Pixel 8 Series: Best Displays on a Smartphone

The Google Pixel 8 managed an overall Display score of 154 points. Despite using an LTPO panel and offering a higher peak brightness, the Pixel 8 Pro also managed a similar 154 points score.

DxOMark lauds the smartphone for exceptional screen readability under all conditions, pleasing screen colour, and a solid HDR video experience. Besides, the Pixel 8 Pro also won praise for its smooth web browsing experience and high-quality sound from its in-built speakers.

The Google Pixel 8 Pro sports a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO OLED panel with a peak brightness of 2,400 nits. The screen boasts an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate (1Hz - 120Hz). The vanilla Pixel 8 opts for a smaller 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. The screen boasts a 120Hz refresh rate that scales between 60Hz - 120Hz.

Among the key highlights of the new Pixel 8 is a new Tensor G3 chipset, an upgraded 50 MP primary camera sensor, IP68 rating, Android 14, and more, while the Pixel 8 Pro also features a new high res ultrawide camera. Google is also offering seven years of software and security updates with the Pixel 8 series.

The Google Pixel 8 price in India is set at Rs 75,999 for the base 8GB/128GB variant. Google is also offering the Pixel 8 in India in a new 8GB/256GB configuration that will set you back Rs 82,999. The Google Pixel 8 Pro price in India is set at Rs 1,06,999 for the sole 12GB/128GB configuration. The Google Pixel 8 series is currently available for purchase in India through Flipkart.
