Google Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro Launched with Tensor G3 SoC, 120Hz OLED Display, IP68 Rating
Google has officially unveiled the Pixel 8 series in India and globally. The line-up includes the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Google also unveiled the Pixel Watch 2 at its event but more on that later.
The Google Pixel 8 series arrive with the new Tensor G3 SoC, which is fabbed on Samsung's 4nm processor. And as the rumours suggested, the Tensor G3 SoC features a 9-core CPU. Now, let's look at everything new coming to the Pixel 8 series.

Google Pixel 8 Series Pricing
First off, the Google Pixel 8 price starts from $699 (roughly Rs 58,200) for the 8GB/128GB model. Additionally, the Google Pixel 8 Pro price starts from $999 (roughly Rs 83,200) for the base 8GB/128GB variant.
The Google Pixel 8 Pro arrives in Blue, Obsidian, and Beige color options. The Pixel 8, on the other hand, comes in Hazel, Obsidian, or Rose shades.
Google has confirmed that Pixel 8 buyers will get a free pair of Pixel Buds Pro, while Pixel 8 Pro buyers will get the Pixel Watch 2 free. Stay turned to Gizbot for pricing and availability of the Pixel 8 series in India.
Google Pixel 8 Pro Specifications
The Google Pixel 8 Pro is powered by the Tensor G3 SoC, which is equipped with 9-cores, including a single Cortex-X3 prime core, four Cortex-A715 cores, and four more Cortex-A510 cores. Moreover, the Pixel 8 Pro packs a 5,050 mAh battery with 30W wired fast charging and 23W wireless fast charging support. There's no adapter in the box though.
The Google Pixel 8 Pro sports a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO OLED panel with a peak brightness of 2,400 nits. The screen boasts an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate (1Hz - 120Hz). The Pixel 8 Pro also features Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and back.

For optics, the Pixel 8 Pro gets a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP Octa-PD (phase-detect autofocus) with OIS, a new 48 MP Quad-PD ultrawide shooter, and a 48 MP Quad-PD telephoto-periscope lens with 5x optical zoom and 30x Super-Res digital zoom. Up front, the Pixel 8 Pro gets a 10.5 MP selfie camera.
Sitting near the rear cameras is a new skin temperature sensor, whose purpose is solely to read temperature. The Pixel 8 Pro's cameras also come with new Pro Controls. The Pixel 8 Pro runs Android 14 out of the box and comes with free VPN by Google One and the promise of seven years of OS and regular security updates.
Google Pixel 8 Specifications
The vanilla Google Pixel 8 uses the same chipset as the Pixel 8 Pro. However, the vanilla Pixel 8 opts for a smaller 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. The screen boasts a 120Hz refresh rate that scales between 60Hz - 120Hz. The panel is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
For optics, the Pixel 8 gets a dual-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP primary Octa-PD sensor with 8x Super-Res digital zoom and a 12 MP ultrawide shooter with AF and Macro capabilities. The Pixel 8 has the same 10.5 MP selfie camera as its 'Pro' counterpart.
The phone also has an in-display fingerprint reader and an IP68 rating like the Pixel 8 Pro. The vanilla Pixel 8 packs a 4,575 mAh battery with 27W wired fast charging support and 18W wireless charging support. Again, there's no adapter in the box here. The Pixel 8 also runs on Android 14 out of the box with the same software support as its 'Pro' cousin.
