Google Pixel 8a With Tensor G3 SoC Launched in India; Here’s How Much It Costs

Google has announced its next-gen Pixel 8a smartphone ahead of Google's I/O 2024 developers conference, which is scheduled for May 14. Google promises to provide up to 7 years of software updates for the new phone like the other models of the Pixel 8 lineup. The Google Pixel 8a is equipped with the in-house Tensor G3, which powers the Pixel 8 series models. The phone comes with 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The Pixel 8A packs a slightly larger 4,492 mAh battery compared to its predecessor Pixel 7a with support for 18W wired, and 7.5W wireless charging. The device features a 6.1-inch Actua display with an updated 120Hz refresh rate over its predecessor. The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

For imaging, the Pixel 8a offers a dual rear camera setup including a 64MP primary sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Upfront, it gets a 13MP selfie camera and all three sensors are capable of recording up to 4K resolution videos. The phone supports eSIM, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC for connectivity.

On the software front, the phone comes with Android 14 pre-installed and will be one of the first phones to get Android 15 updates in the coming days. It also includes AI features such as Circle to Search, Best Take, Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Magic Voice Eraser, Real Tone, and so on. Lastly, there is an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.

Google Pixel 8a Price and Sale in India

The 128GB variant of the Pixel 8a is priced at Rs 52,999, while the 256GB model will cost Rs 59,999. The handset comes in Aloe, Bay, Obsidian, and Porcelain colour variants. It is up for pre-booking on Flipkart and will go on sale starting May 14.

There is a flat Rs 4,000 discount for people who are pre-booking the phone. In addition, one can get the Pixel Buds A-Series at a discounted price of Rs 999.
