Google Pixel 9 Launched in India with Tensor G4 SoC, Gemin AI, New 48MP Ultrawide Camera
Google has officially launched the vanilla Pixel 9 in India. The Pixel 9 arrives alongside the Pixel 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9 Pro Fold as well as the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 at the company latest hardware event.
The Google Pixel 9 features the same Tensor G4 chipset as its 'Pro' counterparts, a 120Hz OLED display but loses out on LTPO technology, a dual camera setup with an upgraded ultrawide camera, a larger battery, and the latest Android 14 software with the best support in the game and Gemini AI.

Google Pixel 9 Pricing, Availability
The Google Pixel 9 price in India is set at Rs 79,999 for the sole 12GB/256GB configuration. The Pixel 9 is offered in Peony, Porcelain, Obsidian, and Wintergreen colorways.
The Google Pixel 9 will go on sale in India through Flipkart, Croma, and Reliance Digital from August 22. The Pixel 9 will be up for pre-order in India from today (August 14).
Google Pixel 9 Specifications
The Pixel 9 is powered by the Tensor G4 chipset paired with a Mali-G715 GPU and an Exynos 5400 modem. The phone is equipped with a larger 4,700 mAh battery that is touted to reach 55% in 30 minutes if you use the 45W USB-PD charger, which is sold separately. The phone also supports 15W wireless fast charging.
The Pixel 9 sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The screen features an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and can achieve a peak brightness of 2,700 nits. The vanilla Pixel 9 runs stock Android 14 out of the box with Google's promise of seven OS updates and seven years of regular security patches.
For optics, the Pixel 9 uses the same 50MP Samsung GNK sensor with OIS support as the Pixel 8 (Review), although it gets an upgraded 48MP ultrawide lens with a 123° FOV. Up front, the Pixel 9 opts for the same 10.5MP selfie camera as its predecessor. The Pixel 9 will also come with Gemini Nano to power all those AI features.
