HMD Crest and Crest Max Launched in India: Unisoc T760 SoC, 50MP Cameras, and Repairable Parts
HMD Global, the company behind Nokia-branded phones, has launched its first lineup under its own brand name in India - the HMD Crest series. This budget-friendly series consists of two phones: the HMD Crest and the HMD Crest Max.
Focus on Repairability
Both phones share some key features, including a 6.67-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, and a 50MP front-facing camera for selfies. Uniquely, HMD emphasizes repairability with their "HMD Repairability 1.0" program, which aims to make fixing a broken screen, charging port, or battery easier for users.

Unisoc T760 SoC Powers Both Devices
The HMD Crest and Crest Max are powered by the Unisoc T760 processor, a budget-oriented 4G chipset. While performance benchmarks haven't been independently verified, Unisoc claims it will achieve scores similar to the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 and Snapdragon 4+ Gen 2 on benchmarking app AnTuTu.
Camera Differences Between the Two Models
The primary difference between the two phones lies in their rear camera setups. The HMD Crest opts for a simpler dual-camera system with a 50MP main sensor and a secondary depth sensor. The HMD Crest Max boasts a triple-camera setup, featuring a 64MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultrawide sensor, and a depth sensor.
Color Options and Availability
The HMD Crest comes in three colors: red, purple, and blue. The HMD Crest Max also offers three color choices: blue, red, and violet. Both phones will be available for purchase online on Amazon and HMD.com, with sales launching during the upcoming Amazon Great Freedom Sale next month. Introductory sale prices will be Rs 12,999 for the HMD Crest and Rs 14,999 for the HMD Crest Max.
