HMD Global Set to Introduce Barbie Flip Phone on August 28
HMD Global is gearing up to introduce a new flip phone model, the HMD Barbie, on August 28. Previously known for launching Nokia phones, HMD now markets devices under its own name. The brand announced the plans to launch this phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February this year.
The HMD Barbie flip phone is expected to come with a 2.8-inch display and a Unisoc chipset. It will support UPI Digital Scan and Dual 4G VoLTE. The device will also feature a 1450mAh battery and 5-watt charging capability. This model is expected to be a rebranded version of the Nokia 2660 flip phone.

Moreover, it is tipped to be available in Green and Pink colours and is believed to come with an affordable price tag in India. Its unique design and quality features will make it a notable addition to HMD's lineup.
Another upcoming release from HMD is the HMD 225 4G phone, set to launch in India in the coming weeks. While the exact launch date is still unknown, this phone is expected to feature a 2.2-inch IPS LCD display with 400 nits peak brightness, ensuring a clear and vibrant viewing experience.
The HMD 225 4G will be powered by a Unisoc T107 chipset, offering enhanced speed and performance. It will include a single rear camera with a 2MP sensor and LED flash support, capable of capturing both photos and HD videos.
This model will also come with a 1450mAh battery, providing long-lasting battery life. Additionally, it will feature USB Type-C port support for convenient charging and data transfer.
Both the HMD Barbie flip phone and the HMD 225 4G phone reflect HMD's commitment to offering quality devices at affordable prices. These new models are set to enhance the brand's presence in the Indian market.
