HMD Set to Launch Its Original Collection Smartphones Next Month in India

HMD recently announced its own-branded smartphones in the European and US markets. Now, it seems the brand will soon launch its first-ever smartphone in the Indian market.

The brand launched three devices under the Pulse series namely - the HMD Pulse Pro, HMD Pulse Plus and the HMD Pulse. There is another new device dubbed the HMD Vibe which is exclusively for the US market. Hence, a smartphone from the Pulse series might hit the Indian market.

HMD to Launch First Phone in India

The brand took to its official social media handle to confirm the arrival of its first-ever smartphone in India. It did not disclose the name of the handset. However, the brand states it will reveal the name of the upcoming phone on April 29. Given that, we expect the launch of the handset will take place next month.

HMD Pulse Series

The HMD Pulse series phones are affordable offerings and repairable, which is called 'Gen 1 repairability'. Users can replace a damaged display, bent charging port, or depleted battery using a self-repair kit.

The HMD Pulse series smartphones have a 6.65-inch 720p+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. For selfie lovers, the HMD Pulse Pro will be an ideal phone, as it features a 50MP Selfie Camera along with the all-new Selfie Gesture Navigation.

Users can capture a photo with just a wave of the hand. It also includes AI Super Portrait mode, making the darkest selfie as clear as day. It is powered by the Unisoc T606 SoC and is offered in Glacier Green, Twilight Purple and Black Ocean colours.

On the other side, both the HMD Pulse Plus and the HMD Pulse come with a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera sensor. They also offer the same display as the Pulse Pro. Considering the price of the HMD Pulse series in the European market, we expect the first-ever HMD phone will come in the sub-20K category in India.
