Honor 8 might not receive Android Oreo 8.0 update
"Honor 8 is not compatible for Android Oreo update" this means that the device will feature EMUI 5.0 and not the latest EMUI 8.0.
It seems like Honor 8 users will not be able to rejoice as the device might not receive the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update. It is being reported that the company officials have replied to a user comment stating that Honor 8 does not meet the hardware specification required for Android 8.0 Oreo.
This news comes as a bummer to the users. As per some reports by gsmarena, the company officials replied to user query on Twitter the company said "Honor 8 is not compatible for Android Oreo update" this means that the device will feature EMUI 5.0 and not the latest EMUI 8.0.
However the Tweets do not provide any further information apart from blaming the hardware and software compatibility issue. We would request the users to wait till Honor makes any official announcement regarding the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Honor 8.
The devices which are to receive the Android Oreo updates are Honor 8 Pro and Honor 8 lite.

The Honor 8 runs on Octa Core (2.3 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A72 + 1.8 GHz, Quad core Cortex A53), Hisilicon Kirin 950 which is coupled with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage default memory capacity.
Honor 8 Pro processor and Storage
The Honor 8 Pro is powered by an Octa-core (4x2.4 GHz Cortex A-73 and 4x1.8 GHz Cortex- A53), HiSilicon Kirin 960 which is coupled with mali-G71 MP8 GPU. It features 6 GB RAM for multitasking along with 128 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256 GB via microSD card.
Honor 8 lite processor and storage
In terms of hardware specification the Honor 8 lite runs on Octa Core (2.1 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53 + 1.7 GHz Quad core Cortex A53), HiSilicon Kirin 655 that is coupled with Mali T-830 MP2 GPU. Honor 8 lte has 4 GB RAM along with 64 GB internal memory which is expandable upto 128 GB via microSD card.
We would like to get the official announcement from Honor whether it will roll out Android 8.0 oreo upgrade for Honor 8 in the coming future or not.
