Huawei kicked off the year 2018 in the Indian market with the launch of futuristic AI smartphone Honor View 10. The handset ticks all the right boxes of being a flagship Android device with best-in-class dual-lens camera setup. Just recently, the Chinese smartphone maker decided to introduce the same top-end features at much lower price-point for masses. Priced at just Rs. 10,999, Honor 9 Lite has a lot to offer and in a way is one-of-its kind product in its respective price-point.

Honor 9 Lite is a total value for money deal for millennials

The smartphone packs in a number of tricks under its sleeve that truly raises the bar in value mid-range price-point. What makes Honor 9 Lite our best pick in its price-point? Let's find out.

Mesmerizing glass unibody design

Mesmerizing glass unibody design

Honor 9 Lite is class apart in design department. Contrary to regular plastic and metal clad handsets, Honor 9 Lite has a shiny glass panel on the back that instantly grabs eyeballs. The glass panel enhances the phone's style quotient and reminds us of the most premium devices launched in last one year. The look and feel is further amplified with the three available eye catchy colours- Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black and Glacier Grey.

Honor 9 Lite is also one of the lightest and most compact handset in its price-point. As compared to Moto G5S Plus, another well received Android device, Honor 9 Lite looks far appealing, premium and is also a better fit in your palm. This is due to the fact that Honor 9 Lite has far thin-bezels around its 18:9 aspect ratio screen as compared to Moto G5S Plus that seems dated with its traditional 16:9 aspect ratio screen.

Honor 9 Lite First Impressions
Not one, but two dual-lens camera setups

Not one, but two dual-lens camera setups

Huawei has always kept a big focus on mobile photography and has delivered several capable dual-lens camera handsets. Honor 9 Lite is a new game altogether. It features not one but two dual-lens camera setups. Honor 9 Lite sports 13MP+2MP dual-lens camera setups at front and rear side. Both the front and rear camera setups have ability to create hardware level bokeh effect. The rear camera also supports ‘Phase Detection Autofocus' and advanced wide aperture mode to create ‘Bokeh effect'.

There's no other handset in the market that offers four-lens camera system with the ability of hardware-level bokeh effects. Just to give you a better understanding of price-features ratio, Moto G5S Plus which is priced at Rs. 13,999, ships with just one camera at front and cannot deliver bokeh selfies. Moreover, the camera implementation is not as capable as Honor's dual-camera setup as Motorola has just started with two-lens device and Honor has almost perfected it. Moto G5S Plus's camera app takes noticeable time to create bokeh effect whereas Honor 9 Lite does that in a jiffy.

Besides, you will never face any dull moment with Honor 9 Lite as the sheer number of modes, filters and features will keep the photographer in you alive. The camera's main screen itself offers portrait mode, wide aperture mode, moving pictures, beauty mode, etc.

Taller 18:9 aspect ratio Screen with 1080p resolution

Taller 18:9 aspect ratio Screen with 1080p resolution

Honor 9 Lite is among the handful of devices that offers a 1080p screen at such an aggressive price-point. Moreover, it is the only handset that combines two dual-lens camera setups and an 18:9 aspect ratio screen in sub Rs. 15,000 price segment. The 5.6-inch display on Honor 9 Lite has a resolution of 2,160x1,080p which makes its slightly bigger than the Moto G5S Plus's 5.5-inch screen.

The display on Moto G5S Plus is built on the conventional 16:9 aspect ratio and thus fails to deliver an immersive visual experience. Games, videos and web pages look better and appealing on Honor 9 Lite. In a nutshell, the overall multimedia output on Honor 9 Lite is visually much appealing than the one you get with Moto G5S Plus.

Destructive price-point

While all the above mentioned features look downright appealing, what's truly impressive is the fact that Huawei has delivered all such things at an aggressive price-point of Rs. 10,999. There's no other smartphone that offers a premium glass design, crisp 18:9 aspect ratio display and a quad-lens camera setup at such a pocket friendly price-point.
