Honor has unveiled two new flagship phones in China, the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air and the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design, combining high-end chipsets, fast charging, bright OLED screens and large storage options, with Chinese prices converted to roughly Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 1,17,000.

Both models are part of Honor’s Magic 8 series and run MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. The Magic 8 Pro Air uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, while the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform with higher performance targets.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air starts at CNY 4,999 (about Rs. 65,000) for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Configurations with 12GB+512GB and 16GB+512GB are listed at CNY 5,299 (roughly Rs. 69,000) and CNY 5,599 (about Rs. 73,000). The 16GB+1TB version costs CNY 5,999 (about Rs. 78,000).

The Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design is positioned higher, beginning at CNY 7,999 (roughly Rs. 1,04,000) for 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The most expensive Porsche Design option, with 24GB RAM and 1TB storage, is priced at CNY 8,999 (about Rs. 1,17,000) in China.

Honor plans to sell the Magic 8 Pro Air and Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design from January 23 in China through the official Honor online store. Buyers of the Magic 8 Pro Air can choose Fairy Purple, Light Orange, Feather White or Shadow Black, while the Porsche Design arrives in Moonlight Stone and Slate Gray.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air supports one physical SIM and one eSIM and runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. It features a 6.31-inch OLED panel with 1,216x2,640 pixel resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 460ppi pixel density, HDR support and claimed peak brightness reaching 6,000 nits.

Honor equips the Magic 8 Pro Air with the octa core MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset clocked up to 4.21GHz, paired with a Mali G1-Ultra MC12 GPU. Memory options go up to 16GB RAM, while onboard storage tops out at 1TB, targeting users who need more space for apps and media.

The Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design is a dual SIM device, also running Android 16-based MagicOS 10. Its 6.71-inch Full-HD+ OLED display offers 1,256x2,808 pixel resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, 1.07 billion colours and the same advertised 6,000 nits peak brightness level for outdoor visibility.

Powering the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design is Qualcomm’s 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, an octa core unit with a peak clock speed of 4.6GHz. The phone includes an Adreno 840 GPU, up to 24GB LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and 1TB internal storage, aimed at heavy multitasking and high-end gaming.

On the rear, the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air carries a triple camera layout led by a 50-megapixel main sensor with f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilisation. Alongside, there is a 50-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide camera and a 64-megapixel f/2.6 periscope telephoto camera designed for distant subjects.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air also offers a 50-megapixel f/2.0 front camera for selfies and video calls. Both front and rear setups can capture videos at up to 4K resolution and up to 60 frames per second, giving users flexible options for higher-quality recording.

Camera hardware on the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design also follows a triple rear configuration. It combines a 50-megapixel f/1.6 primary sensor, a 50-megapixel f/2.0 ultrawide unit and a 200-megapixel f/2.6 periscope telephoto camera, which is tailored for more detailed long-range photography in this series.

The Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design features a 50-megapixel f/2.0 selfie camera on the front. Video recording support extends up to 4K resolution at 120 frames per second, giving this model higher frame-rate capture than the Pro Air, which may appeal to advanced content creators.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air houses a 5,500mAh battery and supports 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, USB Type-C, BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and NavIC, addressing most common network and navigation needs.

Sensors on the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air cover an accelerometer, proximity sensor, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, hall sensor, IR blaster, e-compass, gyroscope, gravity sensor and colour temperature sensor. The handset carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, measures 150.5x71.9x6.1mm and weighs about 155g.

The Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design gets a larger 7,200mAh battery, paired with 120W wired and 80W wireless fast charging. This model is certified with IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, and includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, USB Type-C and the same satellite navigation standards.

Weighing about 239g and measuring 161.15x75x8.45mm, the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design is noticeably bigger and heavier than the Magic 8 Pro Air. Honor has not announced international launch details yet, so Indian buyers will need to wait for any update on wider availability.
