HONOR Magic V5 Launches Globally with Snapdragon 8 Elite, AI Falcon Camera System, 5000-Nit Display, and More
HONOR has pulled the wraps off its latest flagship foldable, the HONOR Magic V5, for global markets. Building on the Magic V3, this device focuses heavily on design refinements, durability upgrades, AI-driven features, and camera improvements.

A Slim Design That Stands Out
The Magic V5 comes in multiple colors, but the Ivory White variant is the slimmest, measuring 8.8mm when folded and only 4.1mm when unfolded. It also weighs just 217 grams, making it one of the lighter foldables around.
The device has a 7.95-inch inner OLED display and a 6.43-inch outer screen, both supporting stylus input. HONOR’s Multi-Flex mode lets you run up to three apps at once, making it a practical option for multitasking.
Displays Built for Comfort
Both displays support HDR Vivid, Dolby Vision, and ZREAL, with a peak brightness of up to 5000 nits. To reduce eye strain, HONOR has added 4320Hz PWM dimming, motion relief, and natural light adjustment, along with LTPO tech for better power efficiency.
AI Integration with MagicOS 9.0
Running on MagicOS 9.0 (based on Android 15), the Magic V5 brings AI front and center. You get Google Gemini integration with a quick double-tap shortcut, AI-powered HONOR Notes, live transcription and translation, and creative features like AI Image to Video and AI Cutout.
Camera System with AI Enhancements
The phone carries the AI Falcon Camera System, featuring a 64MP ultra-sensing periscope telephoto lens, a 50MP main camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. The HONOR Image Engine powers features such as AI Enhanced Portrait, AI Super Zoom, and Motion Sensing Capture. Both the inner and outer displays also house 20MP selfie cameras.
Durability and Battery Life
HONOR is making a case for longevity with its Super Steel Hinge, rated for more than 500,000 folds. The hinge material reportedly has a strength of 2300 MPa, which the company says surpasses steel. The phone also includes an Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield and a Carbon Fiber Reinforced inner panel for added durability.
Powering everything is a 5820mAh silicon-carbon battery, paired with 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and wireless reverse charging. It also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Performance Under the Hood
At its core, the Magic V5 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Connectivity options include dual 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and dual-band GPS support.
Pricing and Availability
The HONOR Magic V5 starts at £1,699.99 in the UK and EUR 1,999 across Western Europe. Buyers can choose from four finishes: Ivory White, Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown.
