Honor Robot Phone Camera Details Confirmed Ahead of Launch: 200MP Sensors, ARRI Features Stun, and More Teased

Honor has officially revealed the camera capabilities of its upcoming Honor Robot Phone ahead of its August 12 launch in China. The company also announced a strategic partnership with renowned cinema equipment manufacturer ARRI, aiming to bring professional filmmaking technologies and workflows to smartphones.

The collaboration marks Honor's latest push into flagship mobile imaging and could position the Robot Phone as one of the most camera-focused smartphones of 2026.

Honor's Robot Phone Wants to Replace Your Camera: Here's Why

Honor Robot Phone to Feature 200MP Triple Camera Setup

The Honor Robot Phone will arrive with an advanced triple rear camera system led by a 200MP primary sensor with a bright f/1.6 aperture. The main camera is paired with a physical three-axis gimbal stabilisation system, designed to deliver smoother photos and videos without relying solely on electronic stabilisation.

The setup also includes:

  • 50MP ultra-wide camera
  • 200MP periscope telephoto camera
  • Three-axis gimbal stabilisation for the primary sensor

With dual 200MP sensors and dedicated hardware stabilisation, Honor is positioning the Robot Phone to compete directly with premium camera flagships.

Custom Imaging Chip Powers Professional Camera Features

At the heart of the camera system is Honor's first in-house Yuguang H1 imaging chip, built to accelerate advanced photography and video processing.

The company has also developed a compact 2.6-gram gimbal motor, which reportedly delivers higher torque while occupying less internal space. Working alongside the hardware is the new AIMAGE 2.0 image stabilisation engine, which further reduces camera shake during handheld shooting.

Honor says the imaging platform is backed by more than 100 patents, highlighting the company's investment in camera innovation.

ARRI Partnership Brings Professional Filmmaking Tools

One of the biggest highlights of the Honor Robot Phone is its partnership with ARRI, a brand widely known for its professional cinema cameras used in film and television production.

Thanks to this collaboration, the Robot Phone will offer several pro-grade video features, including:

  • ARRI Log-C video recording
  • Professional colour grading LUTs
  • Real-time white balance and exposure adjustments
  • Glare reduction tools
  • Exposure lock
  • Spatial camera movement tracking

These features aim to provide creators with a filmmaking experience closer to professional cinema cameras while remaining accessible on a smartphone.

Honor Plans to Bring ARRI Camera Tech to Future Flagships

Honor confirmed that the imaging technologies developed through its collaboration with ARRI will not remain exclusive to the Robot Phone. The company plans to introduce the technology to future flagship devices, including the Honor Magic 9 series.

The two companies will also establish a joint imaging research laboratory to continue developing next-generation mobile photography and videography technologies.

With its 200MP dual flagship cameras, custom imaging chip, hardware gimbal stabilisation, and ARRI-powered professional video tools, the Honor Robot Phone is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious camera-centric smartphones ahead of its official debut on August 12.
