HTC confirms Android 8.0 Oreo update for HTC U11, U Ultra, and 10
HTC will start rolling out the Android8.0 update with HTC U11 in Q4, 2017
Taiwanese tech giant HTC has confirmed that the company's handsets- HTC U11, HTC 10 and U Ultra will get the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update in the coming months. The company posted the news via a tweet that reads, "We're excited to bring Android 8.0 to the HTC U11, U Ultra, & 10, beginning with U11 in Q4. Stay tuned for more Oreo details & new products!"

Another tweet mentioned that the update will be rolled out to all the HTC users worldwide. The details regarding the specific dates for the update and the list of other HTC handsets due to get Oreo will be announced soon.
As noted, it was in June 2017 when HTC U11 received its very first update. The update version 1.11.617.3 was released for the smartphone according to the official change log posted by HTC on its website. The update introduced few system enhancements but does not bring along any noticeable change. This will be addressed with the latest Android flavor.
Android Oreo is the eighth full version of the platform and brings in many new features that users have been waiting for since long.
Besides HTC, a number of smartphone manufacturers have revealed when their offerings will get the Oreo update. There are devices other than the Pixel and Nexus lineup those will get the update within the end of this year.
