The struggling smartphone brand, HTC has quietly announced the its latest mid-ranger in the dubbed as Desire 628 Dual SIM in Vietnam. Moving on to the specifications, the HTC Desire 628 Dual SIM sports a 5-inch HD display with 1280 x 720 pixels.

Further, the Desire 628 Dual SIM is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with Mali T720 as GPU under the board. With this SoC inside, the device can support 1080p Full HD displays, along with Full HD video recording and playback.

2TB of expandable storage? Well, who's going to use it?

Talking about the camera part, the Desire 628 Dual SIM SoC flaunts a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and BSI sensor. On the front, the device is backed by 5MP front camera with 75-degree wide-angle lens on board.

With features such as a countdown timer, backside illumination and gesture controls, it helps the users to take perfect selfie on the go. On the storage front, the Desire 628 Dual SIM has 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory with expandable option via MicroSD card slot up to 2TB!

Outdated OS!

The HTC Desire 628 Dual SIM is shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop on top of Sense UI. However, there is no information about Android 6.0 update in the future.

No Fingerprint sensor, NFC, USB Type-C!

Moreover, this device comes with HTC BoomSound, Dual frontal stereo speakers along with connectivity options such as 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. The inside hardware is juiced with 2200mAh battery!

Pricing and Availability?

Coming in White&Blue and Black&Red, the HTC Desire 628 Dual SIM might be priced around Rs. 13,000. However, there is no official announcement regarding the pricing and availability, we are expecting more information in upcoming days.

HTC's poor show continues!

The Taiwan-based handset maker HTC has recently announced the financial results for Q1 2016. As per the report, the company has recorded $454 million in revenue, down by 64% as it was $1.3 billion in Q1 2015. However, HTC is coming back with some devices, including Vive, HTC 10. where we can expect a stronger growth from HTC next quarter.

Operating loss for the quarter stands at $150 million (NT$4.8 billion) compared to a profit of $11.6 million (NT$360 million) for the same period last year.

However as per the tech analysts, HTC Desire 628 Dual SIM is said to compete against other mid-rangers like Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016).
