HTC has announced the much-rumored One A9 smartphone, the company's first A series smartphone and the first non-Nexus smartphone to launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board.
The smartphone sports a 5 inch full HD AMOLED display and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor and runs on the latest Android operating system along with HTC Sense UI on top.
The Snapdragon chipset employs an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5GHz and another four A53 at 1.2GHz, and paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 2 or 3 GB of RAM.

Latest Android OS
The HTC One A9 is the first non-Nexus smartphone to operate on Android 6.0 Marsh operating system out of the box and has HTC Sense UI on top.
The smartphone sports a 5 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels that translates to the pixel density of 441ppi and has Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top.
Expandable Storage Option
The One A9 comes in two storage models: 16GB with 2GB of RAM and another 32GB with 3GB of RAM. Both models has support to microSD card that gives the ability to expand storage up to 200GB.
The smartphone is packed with 13 megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization, autofocus, dual-LED flash with dual tone, touch focus, face detection and also has a 4 megapixel front facing camera.
The Home key of the One A9 features an always-on fingerprint scanner, which will unlock the device even while the display is turned off. The fingerprint sensor can also be used for making payments on Play Store.
The device is entirely made of metal with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 protective glass shielding on the front size. The device looks almost similar to the iPhone design. But, the company claims that it designed that One A9 from signature elements of its previous phones like antenna strips on the back.
The smartphone comes with 2150 mAh battery, which is not user replaceable. But, octa-core processor on board takes maximum battery power. The battery life is not as expected.
The One A9 is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 617 chipset. But the latest smartphones are packed with more powerful Snapdragon 810 and Snapdragon 820 processor.
The smartphone is now available in single SIM option and supports nano-SIM. Well, we wish that the smartphone to come with dual-SIM support in the Indian market.

HTC has not yet announced the price and availability of the smartphone in the Indian market. The smartphone is available for pre-order in the U.S. market at a limited period offer of $399.99.
