Well, it looks like HTC U11 will be the first one among them to taste Oreo. Fresh information coming from a popular tipster using the Twitter handle @LlabTooFeR has revealed the update is in the final stages of its development. He has further claimed that HTC will start pushing out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to U11 either from November or early December.

While we have heard no official word on this matter, HTC did say the Oreo update will reach U11 in the fourth quarter of this year. Also considering the impressive track record of the tipster, we are not skeptical about the revelation made by him.

The HTC U11 was launched in India back in June. Just to recall, the flagship smartphone comes with squeezable frames thanks to the "Edge Sense" technology. It has a 5.5-inch Quad HD 1440p Super LCD 5 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The U11 is driven by a 2.45GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC that is teamed up with Adreno 540 graphics unit and 6GB RAM. The device offers 128GB storage space that can be expandable up to 2TB with a microSD card as it has a hybrid dual SIM card slot.

Running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat topped with HTC Sense UI, the device comes with the IP67 rating that makes it water and dust resistant.

There is a fingerprint sensor as well on board with other features such as 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and USB Type-C 3.1. A 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 powers the smartphone.

Talking about the cameras, the HTC U11 is equipped with a 12MP HTC UltraPixel 3 rear camera with dual LED flash. The rear camera has OIS, f/1.7 aperture, UltraSpeed Autofocus, 4K video recording with 3D audio, RAW capture, Hi-Res stereo recording, 120fps slow-mo video at FHD 1080p.

For selfie camera, the HTC phone uses a 16MP sensor that can record videos at FHD 1080p resolution.
