HTC U12 leaked images show glass back, dual rear cameras
HTC U12 is speculated to launch sometime in May.
HTC, which once used to be a prominent name in the smartphone industry, is now struggling to keep up with its rivals. However, the company refuses to give in just yet. The Taiwanese manufacturer currently gearing up for the launch of its upcoming flagship; the U12. Needless to say, the company has a lot of expectations from the smartphone.
From what we have been hearing so far, the HTC U12 will be released sometime in May. It has already appeared in a few leaks, revealing its design and specifications. Yet again, alleged renders of the U12 have emerged online. According to the images, the smartphone will arrive with a full-screen design with minimal bezels. From the looks of it, the display has an aspect ratio of 18:9.
The U12 doesn't have a physical home button. Since the phone's screen is turned off, we can't make out how narrow the bezels are. However, we are happy with the fact that it doesn't have the notch, which has become the go-to feature for Android OEMs.
At the rear panel, the U12 appears to sport a horizontally arranged dual camera setup, followed by a LED flash module and a circular fingerprint scanner. The HTC branding can be seen as well. The renders further suggest that the smartphone has a glass back.
When it comes to specifications, the HTC U12 will reportedly ship with a 5.99-inch QHD+ Super LCD 6 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top.
Under the hood, the smartphone is said to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor teamed up with Adreno 630 GPU, 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of UFS 2.1 storage space. All these variants of the U12 are likely to support up to 2TB of additional storage with the help of a microSD card.
The dual rear camera setup of U12 is said to include a 12MP HTC UltraPixel camera and a 16MP secondary sensor. At the front, there could be an 8MP selfie snapper. Other expected features onboard include USB Type-C audio, HTC USonic with Active Noise Cancellation, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, NFC and a 3,420mAh battery with fast charging support.
