HTC U12 screen protectors listed on website; launch imminent?
HTC is gearing up to launch a flagship smartphone soon and regain its feet in the industry.
HTC may be lagging behind in the smartphone market, but the company is not giving up just yet. The Taiwanese manufacturer is gearing up to launch a flagship smartphone soon and regain its feet in the industry. From what we have been hearing so far, HTC's flagship device is dubbed as U12. However, some reports suggest it will be called U12+.
Well, leaving aside the controversy, screen protectors of HTC U12 has been spotted online. The images give us quite a fair idea on what to expect from the upcoming flagship in terms of design. The first thing you will notice about the device is its metal unibody design. This may come as a disappoint to many as the U12 won't support wireless charging.
Moving on, the smartphone appears to sport a display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Truth to be told, we are quite happy that HTC has decided not to catch the notch-train. The bezels around the phone's display are narrow, but not negligible. There are no physical home button.
At the rear, the HTC U12 has a dual camera setup accompanied by a LED flash module. Arranged side by side, the image sensors are placed in a single housing. There is a fingerprint scanner just below the cameras.
Unfortunately, this latest leak doesn't reveal the specifications of the smartphone. If previous reports are to be believed, the U12 will arrive with a 5.99-inch QHD+ Super LCD 6 display topped with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Under its hood, the smartphone is said to make use of an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor teamed up with Adreno 630 GPU, 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of UFS 2.1 storage space. All these variants of HTC U12 are likely to support up to 2TB of additional storage with the help of a microSD card.
The dual rear camera setup of U12 is said to comprise of a 12MP HTC UltraPixel camera and a 16MP secondary sensor. At the front, there could be an 8MP selfie snapper. Other expected features onboard include USB Type-C audio, HTC USonic with Active Noise Cancellation, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, NFC and a 3,420mAh battery with fast charging support.
