Huawei Honor 7 now receiving Android Marshmallow OTA update in India

Huawei latest flagship smartphone Honor 7 has started receiving Android Marshmallow OTA update in India. For those unaware Huawei had announced their plans to push the Marshmallow update to a number of its devices a few months back.

Apparently Honor has started rolling out the update even before the stipulated February, 2016 timeframe, thereby setting an ideal example for many a smartphone brands. Furthermore the fact that the update is available as an OTA (Over-the-Air) is the icing on the cake.

How to Register for Honor 7 Marshmallow update?

It worth noting that the Marshmallow update won't be rolling down automatically via OTA. In fact you are required to register your device in the first place only to receive the update in matter of 24-48 hours. All you need to do is to head to the Registration page and fill in a few information including the Current Software Version, IMEI Number, e-mail address and contact number.

In case you were wondering the IMEI Number of the smartphone can be found on the box pack, whereas the Software Version can b ascertained via Settings > About Phone. Alternatively you can find you IMEI number by dialling *#06# from you mobile.

Huawei is expected to release update for a number of other Honor handsets including the Honor 6, Honor 4X soon.
