Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design Launched with Kirin 9000S SoC, 120Hz OLED Display

Huawei have officially unveiled a new version of the Mate 60 smartphone in China. The Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design was unveiled as the top end model in Huawei's Mate 60 series.

To recall, Huawei partnered with Porsche Design for special edition Mate series smartphones, although that partnership ended with the Huawei Mate 50 RS Porsche Design. This suggests Huawei is entering a new era of special edition smartphones, starting with the Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design.

Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design Pricing

The Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design features a starting price of CNY 11,999 (roughly Rs 1,36,400) for the 16GB/512GB configuration, while the 16GB/1TB variant will set you back CNY 12,999 (roughly Rs 1,47,700).

Huawei has yet to confirm the global availability of the Mate 60 series. However, the Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design is offered in Xuan Black and Rui Red color options.

While the design of the Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design is similar to that of the Mate 60 Pro+, the material used in its construction differs. For one, the Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design features a leather back panel. The finish is made using a nano-scale metal double-dyeing process.

Moreover, the camera island on the back features an octagon shape as opposed to the circular layout on the Mate 60 Pro+. Customers can also pair the special edition Mate 60 smartphone with a Diamond protective case in black or red.

Huawei is also offering premium services with the Mate 60 Pro RS Ultimate Design, including VIP access at airport lounges and trains stations, lawyer consultation, equestrian lessons, and flight delay insurance.

Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design Specifications

The Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design is powered by the new Hisilicon Kirin 9000S SoC paired with the Maleoon 910 GPU. The phone comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage. The handset runs on Harmony OS 4.0.

The handset sports a 6.82-inch FHD+ (2720 × 1260 pixels) LTPO OLED display. The panel boasts an adaptive refresh rate (1Hz - 120Hz) and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. The screen is protected by Xuanwu tempered Kunlun glass and has an in-display fingerprint reader. The phone also has stereo speakers.

For optics, the Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design gets a 48 MP primary sensor with OIS and a variable aperture (f/1.4 - f/4.0), a 40 MP ultrawide lens, and a 48 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, 100x digital zoom and OIS. Up front, the Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design opts for a 13 MP selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a 3D depth camera.

The phone packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 88W wired fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and 20W reverse wireless fast charging. The device also features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, NavIC, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and more.
