Huawei might have an Honor 8 Pro or 7X-lookalike in store

Huawei might have a mid-range smartphone lined-up to accompany its Mate 10 Pro in the US market in 2018. In a deleted tweet from Evan Blass, first picked by GSMArena, shows models in Gold and Silver colors resembling the Honor 8 Pro or the recently launched Honor 7X.

The images show the front and rear panel of the device in full glory, featuring a rear-facing fingerprint sensor and a dual camera setup.

The smartphone is speculated to be loaded with specifications similar to the Honor 7X, but what's known is that the device will be dubbed as Huawei Mate SE - that name attributed to a prematurely published support page for Huawei's US consumer site.

Both Blass's tweet and the support page have been pulled down after they have been leaked out. Take note that just because a support page is up for a device in a particular region doesn't necessarily mean the phone will be available for sale in that region.

Furthermore, the company will be launching its Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Plus, and Huawei P20 Lite at an event on March 27.

Apart from the names of the device we already have seen renders of the smartphones as well some of the alleged specs being leaked. So we have some idea about these upcoming Huawei smartphones. But again as it is with any new smartphone before a launch, rumors and leaks seem to pop up every now and then. And yet one of the devices Huawei P20 Lite has been spotted on FCC with the real images of the device. The phone had also already appeared on FCC earlier revealing some of the key specs of the smartphone. In any case, the appearance on FCC means that the handset is ready for launch.

Top features of Honor 7X

The photos that have been leaked does not reveal anything new as such and does confirm what we have seen from the previous leaks. As for the design, Huawei P20 Lite will feature an iPhone X-like display but with a smaller notch at the top. There is no home button instead there is the company's branding at the bottom bezel.

Coming to the back, the phone features a vertically aligned dual-cameras along with the flash. There is a fingerprint scanner placed towards the center part. On a closer look, we can also see the 3.5mm audio jack placed at the bottom. The Huawei P20 Lite has been measured at 145mm. So speculations suggest that the device could sport a 5.5-inch display.
