Huawei Nova Flip Launched with LTPO OLED Display, HarmonyOS, 4,400 mAh Battery

Huawei has introduced the Nova Flip, marking its entry into the clamshell foldable market with a compact flip design. This device, part of the Nova lineup, is available in several bold colours and is positioned as a fashion-forward accessory.

The Huawei Nova Flip boasts impressive hardware, including a waterdrop hinge mechanism that has passed rigorous testing by SGS Switzerland, rated at 1.2 million bends. When unfolded, the device measures just 6.88mm in thickness and weighs 195 grams.

Display and Camera Features

The device features a square 2.14-inch OLED cover display located next to the dual cameras. Inside, it houses a 6.94-inch LTPO OLED with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120Hz. The cover display can act as a viewfinder for the main camera and run first-party apps like weather, music, and calendar.

The camera setup includes a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.56-inch RYYB sensor and an F/1.9 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies.

Software and Battery

Running on HarmonyOS 4.2, the Nova Flip offers several AI features such as subject removal tools, text selection from images, and image generation capabilities. It is powered by a 4,400mAh battery that supports 66W wired charging.

Huawei has not officially disclosed the chipset or RAM details for the Nova Flip. However, previous Geekbench listings suggest it might be equipped with the Kirin 8000 chip, similar to the Huawei Nova 12 and 12 Pro models.

Pricing and Availability

The Huawei Nova Flip is available in four colours: New Green, Sakura Pink, Zero White, and Starry Black. Pricing starts at CNY 5,288 (roughly Rs 62,300) for the 256GB variant. The 512GB version is priced at CNY 5,688 (roughly Rs 67,050), while the top-tier model with 1TB storage costs CNY 6,488 (roughly Rs 76,450).

Sales in China of the Huawei Nova Flip are set to commence on August 10. This new addition to Huawei's lineup combines style with functionality, offering users both aesthetic appeal and robust performance features in a foldable format.
