Huawei P20 codenames, color options and variants leaked on Twitter

Huawei is gearing up to launch several new P-series smartphones in the market soon. The smartphones will basically be the successor to the original Huawei P10 handset. However, earlier it was said that the upcoming smartphone would be dubbed as Huawei P11 but recent reports suggest that the smartphone will be known as Huawei P20.

While we have already seen numerous leaks and rumors, details about Huawei P20 have yet again appeared online. Popular tipster Roland Quandt via Twitter has revealed that Huawei P20 will come in different variants and he has further leaked the smartphones' code names along with color options. As such, the phone will be coming in three variants namely Huawei P20, P20 Plus, and P20 Lite.

According to him, Huawei P20 is codenamed "Emily" and it will be available in Ceramic Black and Twilight colors. Huawei P20 Plus is codenamed "Charlotte" and like the standard P20, it will also be available in Ceramic Black and Twilight colors. Finally, the Huawei P20 Lite is codenamed "Anne", and it will be offered in three colors which will include Midnight Black, Klein Blue, and Sakura Pink.
In any case, from all the information we have come across it looks like Huawei has finalized to go with the name Huawei P20 instead of P11.

Meanwhile, these upcoming smartphones will be an interesting product from the Chinese manufacturer. Considering previous render leaks, Huawei P20 is said to come with a full-screen design which has become a sort of norm in the smartphone industry. But what's more intriguing is that these smartphones are said to feature a triple camera setup which might be the first of its kind in the industry. The company has reportedly partnered with Lecia for the project. Moreover, the camera is expected to be a 40MP sensor with 5x hybrid zoom. The front camera on these models is said to be a 24MP sensor also developed by Leica.

It worth mentioning that smartphone manufacturers are going all out with camera technology and it has become one of the top selling points. Besides, some of the smartphones today like Google Pixel 2 produce DSLR like quality images.

Having said that, apart from high-end cameras Huawei P20 is said to come with thinner bezels than its predecessor, and the handset will likely be powered by the company's latest in-house Kirin 970 AI chipset. They will run the latest EMUI 8.0 which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.

Talking about the launch, recent reports have suggested that Huawei might not be launching its next-generation flagship phones at MWC 2018 and save it for a later date. The prime reason may be the company wants to wait until Samsung unveils its Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at the event. We will have to wait a bit longer and see what Huawei is planning for MWC 2018.
